BBQ Sunday

Sunday afternoon, daku went to this bbq event. It was a wonderful day for bbq and outsisde activities. Alhamdulillah. BBQ ini telah dikendalikan di Platfields, sebuah park yg agak besar dan best utk outside activites. Nothing much to say so here are two pictures. I unfortunately, did not take any pictures myself, so had to request these pics from others.


The food that was barbaqued. Ayam, lamb ribs, burgers, hotdogs. Daku bawa sweetcorn sedikit utk jamuan.





The people that attended. And yeah, they rock. Muslims brotherly love -we bonded.yeah.


Now back into the week. This week is health and safety week. Monday tak pegi office. Tuesday baru akan attend these safety lectures. I need to still write a few more. uhuh

Ya Allah, permudahkan lah utk hamba2 mu ini.

I am just so amazed to Susan Boyle voice. It is just to say that we should always not judge anyone by their appearances. They might be an amazing person with great talent!

Boleh lihat performance beliau di sini atau di bawah ni di Britains Got Talent. And dengar first recording beliau di sini. Nampaknya Susan ni mmg dah lama bertalent, cuma betul2 takde peluang since dia tiada rupa seorang artis. malang2.


Daku mmg agak tersentuh dengan suara beliau. Dah lama tak dgr lagu2 yg slow and emo camni la. haha.

Nurul Huda - A person I love

This is a story about a girl. A girl who turned into a women and soon into a wife. hoho. Siapa Nurul Huda ni? Well, please let me tell you. I shall tell you as best as I can.

She is the sweetest person that I have ever met! She is absolutely stunning with her own style that is always so cool! She loves her friends and her friends love her too! I honestly can say that I LOVE her!

Nurul Huda's was born on 14th April. She was born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan (like me). She is the eldest of 4 siblings. She also has a boyfriend, soon to be tunang and husband. tahniah2! (who is this lucky person?) I am a little bit sad that I could not celebrate her birthday in Malaysia. huhu

I LOVE NURUL HUDA! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The love? sibling love of course. huhu. She is getting married to Abg Shah, insyaAllah. I can't give much info on him, but I heard he is a nice guy. hehe. I do make doa for her happiness though. May Allah grant you guys happiness.

Nottingham Uni International Office trip

Kenapalah daku pergi International Office trip Nottingham University? Asalnya mcm tak nak pergi tapi sebab kesengalan kakWan and kakEja yg telah beli ticket utk daku. Daku pun pergilah. Ada juga reason nak ziarah Nottingham and Sutton Bonington.

International trip kali ni adalah ke Blue John Cave dan Bakewell di Peak District. Tapi atas sokongan majoriti, we end up pergi ke Speedwell Cavern instead and menaiki boat dlm gua. Agak menarik. Trip ini daku pergi bersama kakEja, kakWan, Nazmi, Bee Lynn, Halida, Dini and hubby beliau, Wira who flew from Jakarta.













The pictures above shows us taking pictures at the Winnats Pass. Speedwell Cavern is located just before entering this pass. We did not enter this pass though. Kalo pergi Blue John Cavern, akan lalu lah.













From the pictures you can see us getting on the boat to go through the small tunnels. Thank God for the safety helmets because my head got hit from ceiling of the cave numerous times. The tunnel was really small. We were told that children worked on the tunnels. They were "minors". hehe. Sedih juga when we found out that the average life span of a miner was 28 years. Mining was a very hazardous job.














Setelah menjelajah cavern tersebut, kami dibawa ke Bakewell. Daku and kakWan and kakEja pernah dtg ke tempat ini dahulu kala bersama Saddiq and kakRokh. Kami jalan2 sahaja di tempat ini. Ada yg makan Bakewell Pudding, ada yg membeli belah pinggan cawan dan ada yg lepak di kedai2 menuman. Daku bersama Nazmi hanya jalan2 and lepak bersama hot choc dan cheesecake je. yeah.







Kami juga ada jumpa tempat tourist centre Bakewell yg mana cerita pasal history Peak District. Tak baca sgt sbb malas mengetahui. Tangkap gambar2 aje di tempat itu. Last picture adalah comparison saiz lembu and one pound. huhu.

Itulah dia trip international office Nottingham University. Daku sempat juga menziarah rakan2 di Dunkirk dan juga abgWan, kakYus and Amirul di SB. InsyaAllah kalau ada rezeki, kita berjumpa lagi.

- Alarm yg annoying, tapi quite effective: OnlineClock. Tapi kalu nak guna ni, takleh la tutup laptop malam2. uhuh.

Hating this

I am so hating myself right now. PhD is hard. I know. I know. I know. And so, why am I doing this? passion? work? or just following the breadcrumbs trail in this forest of life? boy, owh, boy. I have my doubts. Writing a literature review should not be this hard!

I need some perspective. I need some guide. I need to finish this as soon as I can! Just get it over with!

Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis

This is something else about me. I love the Sci-fi series Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Both shows have now ended. It was sad so I would just like to link these tribute videos from Youtube to show my appreciation on the stargate franchise. They are the only Sci-fi series that I like.

And I should mention. Menonton series2 ini telah melaghakan daku. Daku tak rekomen kepada mereka2 yg lain utk menonton cerita2 ini. Besides, ini adalah fantasi manusia, kalo tak cukup iman boleh terpercaya dgn teory2 and ideology2 yg ada dlm series2 ini. I could say that masa yg digunakan utk menonton cerita2 ini mungkin besar patut digunakan utk daku mendapat first class for my degree. uhuh.

TB skin test and Package from Malaysia

Dua minggu lepas daku telah mendapat surat meminta daku dtg ke Royal Infirmary Eye Hospital utk melakukan skin test for TB. Surat itu sebenarnya di alamatkan ke rumah Rashdan, yg mana daku tinggal sebelum masuk hall awal tahun ini. Apparently, immegresen telah mengforwardkan nama daku utk skin test ke pihak national healthcare.







Kiri: You can see a bulge of inactivated TB injected on my arm for the skin test. It is actually injected to the space between the muscle and the outer skin, hence the skin test.
Tengah: The result of the skin test. Nurse yg amik result kata itu positive for TB, so dia pun buat la blood test (boleh nampak kesan cucuk for blood). Nurse tu kata kalo positive betul, mereka akan contact daku utk treatment. uhuh
Kanan: My examination sheet. Nurse yg membuat skin test menulis perkara2. Masa ni baru nak buat skin test,so takde tulis result skin test tersebut.

Package from Malaysia dah sampai minggu lepas. Kotak hampir terburai di bahagian bawah. Alhamdulillah, tiada brg yg tercicir (as far as I can tell). Terima kasih kepada KakUda kerana tolong hantar package ini. Berat: 10kg and cost about RM383. Agak mahal and kalo boleh tak nak minta hantar brg2 dari Malaysia lagi.







Hujung minggu ini daku join main2 tournament ping pong. Kalah first match. Factor kekalahan? tak cukup bakat. Boleh saing tapi tak cukup bakat utk menang tournament style. Daku masih yakin lagi, jikalau main lain hari, masih ada peluang menang. huhu.

What is happening to me?

I have been saying 'yes' a little too much lately. I don't know why. I said 'yes' to workload. Said 'yes' to do things. And even 'yes' to stuff that I have little agreement upon.

I have just realised this and it kind of freaked me out. What made me become this 'yes' person? It's like that Jim Carrey movie: Yes Man. uhuh. Love his work by the way.

I am not complaining or anything, but it is pretty scary for me. I might be turning a new leaf here. Trying to make use of my time and energy. Trying to be positive when things might actually suck in the end.

Ape2pun, just to state what's in my mind now: I am fighting stereotypes. I am a muslim. I want to make Malaysia a better place. I am muslim first followed by malay and malaysian, both are seconds.

All England Badminton di Birmingham

All England Badminton. Best dapat pergi on Sunday last week with good friend Sofe. Kami pergi tengok finals. Nak tgk Chong Wei lawan Lin Dan. Malang nya Chong Wei kalah. Overall, China bolot suma finals. uhuh. Walaupun result tak best, daku dapat bergambar dgn Datuk Misbun and Lin Dan! best2. Lihat2 lah gambar2 di bawah ini:

Masa nak pergi Birm ada masalah sedikit dgn bas. Bas breakdown di motorway. Terpaksa tunggu di stesen minyak for another bus. Agak tak best sbb lambat sampai Birm. Lebih kurang sejam lambat. Bawah ni gambar2 masa bas tu breakdown:






In the end, agak best la dapat pegi All England lagi skali. Tiket aritu beli online pada akhir January pada harga 25pounds. Apparently boleh dapat murah lagi kalau dapat pergi Birm and beli tiket di kaunter menggunakan student card discount. Next time la insyaAllah.

Tak dapat tangkap gambar bersama Chong Wei sbb dia main nyorok2. Ada member dari Notts kata she waited like 3 hours tapi masih Chong Wei tidak kelihatan. Lain kali lah tangkap gambar dgn Chong Wei. hehe.

Does God exist? - Yes

Last Tuesday was the Does God exist debate. Was a pointless debate when the humanist was really throwing points that are quite pointless. I do agree to another blogger that Hamza was like playing tennis on one end and Guy Otten was playing ping pong. It does felt like that. But hey, that is just how debates are played.
















The lecture hall was full and I was there with Haris. Owh, I should mention that this was a part of the Islamic Awareness Week by Manchester University ISOC. I did not get to go to any other event though. I was busy with reading and writing (in a way). And of course, last Wednesday, was a lazy day for me. Did absolutely nothing except laundry.

Kisah drama di office. Daku mahukan desktop di office. Supervisor kata boleh try guna desktop2 ini kerana telah lama and berhabuk and mcm tiada org guna. Daku contact IT service utk minta pertolongan utk reinstall OS. Minggu yg sama, kawasan desktop nampak mcm dikemas sedikit demi sedikit. Akhirnya dtg lah org IT utk reinstall OS one of the desktops. Lepas dia reinstall, muncul lah satu notice di computer itu that say something like: "Hey! Who do you think you are to do anything you want with this computer!!". Cuak daku. Rupanya mmg ada org sedang menggunakan computer tersebut. Daku meminta maaf kepada beliau, Shadi dari Syria. Beliau faham akan misunderstanding yg telah berlaku dan telah pun resolve problem computernya itu. Apparently dia ada backup, so alhamdulillah takde la total loss or whatever. Tapi daku tau, the incident was very annoying.

Sekarang beliau dah completely pindah ke meja belakang meja daku. Beliau baik. So mmg story gak la of how we met. haha. Anyways, learnt my lesson: make sure btul2 before doing anything. uhuh.
