I am so hating myself right now. PhD is hard. I know. I know. I know. And so, why am I doing this? passion? work? or just following the breadcrumbs trail in this forest of life? boy, owh, boy. I have my doubts. Writing a literature review should not be this hard!

Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis
This is something else about me. I love the Sci-fi series Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Both shows have now ended. It was sad so I would just like to link these tribute videos from Youtube to show my appreciation on the stargate franchise. They are the only Sci-fi series that I like.

And I should mention. Menonton series2 ini telah melaghakan daku. Daku tak rekomen kepada mereka2 yg lain utk menonton cerita2 ini. Besides, ini adalah fantasi manusia, kalo tak cukup iman boleh terpercaya dgn teory2 and ideology2 yg ada dlm series2 ini. I could say that masa yg digunakan utk menonton cerita2 ini mungkin besar patut digunakan utk daku mendapat first class for my degree. uhuh.

TB skin test and Package from Malaysia
Dua minggu lepas daku telah mendapat surat meminta daku dtg ke Royal Infirmary Eye Hospital utk melakukan skin test for TB. Surat itu sebenarnya di alamatkan ke rumah Rashdan, yg mana daku tinggal sebelum masuk hall awal tahun ini. Apparently, immegresen telah mengforwardkan nama daku utk skin test ke pihak national healthcare.
Kiri: You can see a bulge of inactivated TB injected on my arm for the skin test. It is actually injected to the space between the muscle and the outer skin, hence the skin test.
Tengah: The result of the skin test. Nurse yg amik result kata itu positive for TB, so dia pun buat la blood test (boleh nampak kesan cucuk for blood). Nurse tu kata kalo positive betul, mereka akan contact daku utk treatment. uhuh
Kanan: My examination sheet. Nurse yg membuat skin test menulis perkara2. Masa ni baru nak buat skin test,so takde tulis result skin test tersebut.
Package from Malaysia dah sampai minggu lepas. Kotak hampir terburai di bahagian bawah. Alhamdulillah, tiada brg yg tercicir (as far as I can tell). Terima kasih kepada KakUda kerana tolong hantar package ini. Berat: 10kg and cost about RM383. Agak mahal and kalo boleh tak nak minta hantar brg2 dari Malaysia lagi.
Hujung minggu ini daku join main2 tournament ping pong. Kalah first match. Factor kekalahan? tak cukup bakat. Boleh saing tapi tak cukup bakat utk menang tournament style. Daku masih yakin lagi, jikalau main lain hari, masih ada peluang menang. huhu.

What is happening to me?
I have been saying 'yes' a little too much lately. I don't know why. I said 'yes' to workload. Said 'yes' to do things. And even 'yes' to stuff that I have little agreement upon.
I have just realised this and it kind of freaked me out. What made me become this 'yes' person? It's like that Jim Carrey movie: Yes Man. uhuh. Love his work by the way.
I am not complaining or anything, but it is pretty scary for me. I might be turning a new leaf here. Trying to make use of my time and energy. Trying to be positive when things might actually suck in the end.
Ape2pun, just to state what's in my mind now: I am fighting stereotypes. I am a muslim. I want to make Malaysia a better place. I am muslim first followed by malay and malaysian, both are seconds.

All England Badminton di Birmingham
All England Badminton. Best dapat pergi on Sunday last week with good friend Sofe. Kami pergi tengok finals. Nak tgk Chong Wei lawan Lin Dan. Malang nya Chong Wei kalah. Overall, China bolot suma finals. uhuh. Walaupun result tak best, daku dapat bergambar dgn Datuk Misbun and Lin Dan! best2. Lihat2 lah gambar2 di bawah ini:

Ini adalah gambar bersama Datuk Misbun Sidek. This was after Chong Wei's defeat. Walaupun begitu, Datuk Misbun was really friendly.
Ini adalah gambar bersama Lin Dan yg telah mengalahkan Chong Wei. A happy champion. Misbun and Rashid tinggi lagi dari dia.
Bawah left: Lepas every category, derang buat penyampaian medal. This was what the stadium looks like during the finals.
Bawah right: During the mens final match. Chong Wei warna merah, Misbun and Rashid di kerusi coach belakang dia.

Masa nak pergi Birm ada masalah sedikit dgn bas. Bas breakdown di motorway. Terpaksa tunggu di stesen minyak for another bus. Agak tak best sbb lambat sampai Birm. Lebih kurang sejam lambat. Bawah ni gambar2 masa bas tu breakdown:
In the end, agak best la dapat pegi All England lagi skali. Tiket aritu beli online pada akhir January pada harga 25pounds. Apparently boleh dapat murah lagi kalau dapat pergi Birm and beli tiket di kaunter menggunakan student card discount. Next time la insyaAllah.
Tak dapat tangkap gambar bersama Chong Wei sbb dia main nyorok2. Ada member dari Notts kata she waited like 3 hours tapi masih Chong Wei tidak kelihatan. Lain kali lah tangkap gambar dgn Chong Wei. hehe.
Teruskan usaha Chong Wei. Majulah sukan utk negara~

Does God exist? - Yes
Last Tuesday was the Does God exist debate. Was a pointless debate when the humanist was really throwing points that are quite pointless. I do agree to another blogger that Hamza was like playing tennis on one end and Guy Otten was playing ping pong. It does felt like that. But hey, that is just how debates are played.
The lecture hall was full and I was there with Haris. Owh, I should mention that this was a part of the Islamic Awareness Week by Manchester University ISOC. I did not get to go to any other event though. I was busy with reading and writing (in a way). And of course, last Wednesday, was a lazy day for me. Did absolutely nothing except laundry.

Kisah drama di office. Daku mahukan desktop di office. Supervisor kata boleh try guna desktop2 ini kerana telah lama and berhabuk and mcm tiada org guna. Daku contact IT service utk minta pertolongan utk reinstall OS. Minggu yg sama, kawasan desktop nampak mcm dikemas sedikit demi sedikit. Akhirnya dtg lah org IT utk reinstall OS one of the desktops. Lepas dia reinstall, muncul lah satu notice di computer itu that say something like: "Hey! Who do you think you are to do anything you want with this computer!!". Cuak daku. Rupanya mmg ada org sedang menggunakan computer tersebut. Daku meminta maaf kepada beliau, Shadi dari Syria. Beliau faham akan misunderstanding yg telah berlaku dan telah pun resolve problem computernya itu. Apparently dia ada backup, so alhamdulillah takde la total loss or whatever. Tapi daku tau, the incident was very annoying.
Sekarang beliau dah completely pindah ke meja belakang meja daku. Beliau baik. So mmg story gak la of how we met. haha. Anyways, learnt my lesson: make sure btul2 before doing anything. uhuh.

This is a picture of the Impranil bottle containing the 40% polyester polyurethane liquid form. I had used it to make polyurethane agar (PUA) plates to grow my PU degradaing fungi.

- supervisor meeting adalah oke2 dgn daku realise yg daku ini masih lagi ketinggalan and perlu step it up utk show my enthusiastic towards my research - tak nak result in MPhil!
- Baru chat dgn Hamzi, cikgu sekolah menengah ajar english maths kepada student form 2.
- Kalo daku cikgu, akan daku mahu take part: kelab sains and matematik, persatuan pengakap, sukan tennis and koperasi. That is me.

Explorace on last Saturday
Explorace organised by Manchester's MSM first years. They did quite a good job, I must say. Daku tak join race, tapi hanyalah menjaga checkpoint bersama Shah and Dzul. Sejuk menunggu org sampai. Halangan kami adalah kena blindfold through obstacles. Pretty simple, not as exciting as the other checkpoint where there are puzzles, quizzes and even have to buy stuff. heh.
Org2 yg join explorace termasuklah rakan2 dari Nottingham. Ijam, Fathi, Zahid, Mat and Jamal. Nampak gayanya, depa lebih luas pemandangan Manchester dari daku yg masih lagi tak explore betul2. uhh.
Mereka2 bermalam di Furqan Mosque. The first masjid di Manchester yg daku bersolat Jumaat. They all looked penat gle petang tu. Nampak ada gaya puas jalan ada la. Tahniah kepada organisers.
Di Manchester, MCOT adalah satu organisasi luar university yg cater needs Muslim Malays. They organise once a fortnight event trip or treat. Bagus benar. Daku join trip or treat last week at rumah Zilal - nama rumah itu adalah Zilal. Baitul Zilal.
Lepas mathurat, tazkirah skit and then makan2 ala pot luck. This week takde, derang ganti dgn kuliah online via Paltalk.
More: Dafodils telah mengembang and membunga. Kalo bukan gambar2 dafodils, daku minta maaf, sbb mmg tak tau mcm mana nak identify.
Nampak dafodil2 semasa tgh menunggu di checkpoint.

- dah beli kasut sukan, sadly it is not exactly tennis shoes, but more like badminton shoes. It still can be used insyaAllah. beli size 7 yg ketat skit sbb saiz 8 UK longgar. I need saiz 7 1/2 UK, ade ke? susah btul cari tennis shoes. huh
- still reading and trying to write. kamon2!
- beli lagi puzzle besi. dah ada 3 puzzle besi. best2
- baru tahu yg Hamzi, classmate MRSMBP Kelas J sudah bertunang. dan akan bernikah hujung tahun ni insyaAllah. tahniah utk beliau.
